How to program the Sharp XE-A106 Cash register?

I just bought a Sharp XE-A106 Cash Register. I don't like how it always spits out a receipt and makes a really loud nose in the REG mode. How do I make it stop printing in REG mode? The manual says ABCDEFG "0" and "1" for print and not print, but what is ABCDEFG?
