Bobbin case does not turn?

Singer model No. is 449.serial No. ED080734 The bobbin case does not turn. No lint & recently oiled. Checked everything that is visible but cannot see what is causing the problem. Help very much appreciated.

You are right Ken, the vertical nylon drive is worn down so that there are hardly any teeth left, I can get one for £10 online. Many thanks Mick.

Hello Mick,
The chances are the nylon gear has broken either in the top or bottom, take the top off, look at the gear and see if you have broken teeth, if that one is okay take the metal bottom off and look at the gear under the bobbin case area and see if any teeth are broken.
