how do i start a mcculloch maccat 839?

i was given a fully serviced, working mccullouch macat chainsaw 839, i have seen it going and i was shown how to start it, but when i prime it, pull out choke, i seem to flood it, after leaving it a few minutes i tried again and it started without using the choke, but it stopped, it is full of the correct fuel. i just need simple instructions how to start the chainsaw from cold.

Starting should be fairly straight forward, move the switch to the on position, pull the choke fully out, press the purge bulb as many times as you need to 3/4 fill the bulb ( if it is working correctly, there is no way to flood the engine, no matter how many times you push the bulb ) crank the engine until it fires once, it will not run on choke only fire, you must then push the choke back in, if you continue to crank the engine it will flood, once you have pushed the choke in crank the engine, it should then start, blip the throttle and the engine will come down to idle.
