Apparent blunt cutting chain blade on new Ryobi Chainsaw?

After my first session with my new chainsaw, the chain came off (cutting fine until then). I replaced it but don't think I've done it correctly as it won't cut anything now - Could I have put it on the wrong way round? - Do chains only cut one way? - Any other reason why it has suddenly gone blunt?

Confused from Shrewsbury.

I did not say something was seriously wrong with the saw, I said something was seriously wrong....implying something was seriously wrong with the situation.

Whilst I agree it is probably an incorrectly adjusted chain in this case, it is irrelevant, as any problem with a chainsaw can be serious.

Doesn't suggest there's something SERIOUSLY WRONG with the saw- could simply be the operator hasn't adjusted it correctly. Given the scenario with the operators original questions i would suggest it wasn't correctly adjusted as their obvious lack of knowledge with chainsaws is somewhat worrying.

Chainsaw chains do not just come off, something is SERIOUSLY WRONG.
You can blunt a new chain instantly by catching a nail or stone if you cut into the ground.
Buy a new chain, fit and adjust it correctly or get advice from your local dealer

Yes you could have put it the wrong way around. Yes- chain only cut one way.

Add that to the fact you says it's come off i would politely suggest you shouldn't be using a chainsaw, It is a very dangerous piece of equipment and your questions worry me.
