Item mistakingly washed in machine Hotpoint WF340?

I have mistakingly washed one of my gold rings in my jeans pocket. However I notice that at the back of the machine, the waste pipe looks smaller than the diameter of the ring, and therefore it looks like the piece of jewellery has not been totally flushed out. Its looking like it may still be in the machine somewhere. Is there a section on the washing machine whereby I can take the cover off and find where items collect?

Your help would be greatfully appreciated.

Many thanks!

this covers the 3 possible location of filters on front loader washing machines,

1) A VISIBLE pull down flap on front of machine
2) behind the front KICK PANEL (gently remove to see it)
3) lastly mounted INTERNALLY inside the large black sump hose .
remove the rear lower panel to expose hose

work through the above
remove all excess water first via the drain hose, down into a empty bowl, will need old towel for the filter/pump spillage .
