Singer 514: how do I assemble the automatic tensioner?

I don't see how to thread through the tensioner; I think it's been misassembled!

Hello Gordon,
The thread goes over the top of the tension and the right hand bit of thread goes under the guide, I can attach a picture of the 514 threaded if you email me by typing in my address as you say it not as you see it.
