Remove basin tap head?

We have Armitage Shanks Millenia taps in our bathroom. The cold tap on the basin revolves but does nothing. I want to take the tap head off, but it is not obvious how it comes off. There is a sort of domed cap, but that doesn't want to come off, or just under the grip, it may unscrew, or possibly the whole head just pulls off. I don't want to damage anything, but I cannot see how the head comes off. Any advice greatly appreciated.

soak the join where the thread is with WD40 (good man, use it for everything), and then dry off the dome and use a rubber dome as a pressure pad against which you can press down and turn. it does take some force, but it should move it unless it is too corroded or lime-scaled up. I would recommend using the inner tube of a bike cut open, so that you can get a good seal against the chrome.

We have the same taps in our bathrooms.
To take off the tap heads: You need to unscrew the top domed cap - but it is not easy to do!
Then you can get to the screw beneath and by unscrewing it you can remove the tap head.
It is really difficult to unscrew it though - we are trying to unscrew our taps to change the washers, but no luck so far.
