Why won't hoover 600mb top loader washing machine spin?

I have a Hoover 600mb washing machine it fills and washes no problem however will not spin at the spray rinse cycle nor will it spin dry at all .My wife believes that it was only occasionally not going through spin cycle now it has stopped all together

Ours wouldn't agitate or spin. It just filled up and emptied.

I changed the Water Level setting from MAX to HIGH and it works perfectly now.

It could be the overload protection circuit being activated due to the higher amount of water
