How can I fix my panasonic NV-VHD1 vcr/dvd combi?

I suspect this would be a difficult and potentially expensive repair.

It's recommend to reflow the solder to the flash ROM IC37001 & check soldering around main micro IC37004.

Sounds easy but these IC's are surface mounted and the connections are extremely small. I would not attempt to repair it yourself unless you are experienced in smd reflow work. Although you may get away with just reflowing the slightly larger connections to the flash rom with a needle tipped iron. In which case just apply flux then heat, don't attempt to add new solder. Don't even bother attempting to use that method for IC37004, it requires specialist reflow equipment.

In some cases it may be necessary to replace the complete decoder VEP03G15A.
