how to connect a Kenmore?

97912 in the UK. This is the combined washer drier. I seems that you need 110v and 240 v0lts on the same machine.

Thanks for the reply. I've found a drawing inside the front cover plate and the requirement is for a 240v supply but with a centre tap, (120v), to provide a neutral. This will be possible with a 1 to 1, 240v/240v centre tap transformer. The loading of the drier is 4.5kw so a big transformer is required.

The main problem is that the m/c is designed to run 60hz so would run 15 to 20 percent slower on 50hz and take more current, not good for the long term.

The guy has shipped two of these over from the States . Ooops.

If you really need 110V in the UK you will need to obtain a step down transformer of appropriate size. Each part of your stacking washer dryer should have a rating plate showing the power requirements.

I have seen USA reviews of these machines on the web and they talk of the requirement for 240V.

If it really needs dual voltage supplies I'm amazed - but then I am often amazed on here.

Good luck...
