Ford Transit N reg clutch cable?

I am trying to replace the clutch cable and it doesn't seem to reach the clutch. I have it connected to the pedal but it is an inch or so short of the clutch. I have double checked the cable is correct the correct one. Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Hi very easy trick here,get some one to lift the clutch pedal up as in pull on it rather than push it while there pulling it hold the other end with a pair of pliers and connect the cable to the clutch arm.
