I am trying to find a replacement base for a leather office chair with both height and tilt facilities. The actual base of the chair measures 52cm x52cm and the span of the legs is 70cm

It is very probable that your chair was made outside the UK - there is not much money to be gained selling spares for office chairs so very probably there will be no spare parts to be had. Your likely best approach is a dealer in second-hand office furniture.
