I moved my Epson Perfection 2450 photo scanner from work to home ... after connecting all the cables (firewire) and power, the green light continually flashes. It's hooked up to the same computer Mac G5 OS X 10.4.11. I checked the transportation lock (it wasn't on during the brief move).

Seems as though the scanner will not cycle through the normal warmup.
