do i need a replacement boiler?

i have a myson apollo boiler which is 18 yrs old, and i have just had a pressurised cylinder fitted, as well as the heating being pressurised. but now the high limit stat on the boiler has gone which in turn turns off the pilot light, would i be right in saying that the boiler is not compatable with this system? thanks

further to my question british gas came out and replaced the high limit stat again and said that the stat keeps going because there is a restriction somewhere, does he mean air lock or just sludge in the system? is it worth a powerflush

High limit stat works when temp to high , either high limit stat faulty high temp stat faulty or poor water circulation slow pump or restricted heat exchanger

Refer to makers instruction memory tells me it is quite suitable for a sealed system
