How do I re-fit my Mira shower hose?

My Mira shower hose has small holes in it near the handle. I can buy a new hose for £25, but would like to detach the hose from the chrome handle fitting, cut off the damaged 4 inches and re-attach. Is this possible? I've looked at it and can't see how to detach/re-attach the hose to the threaded chrome fitting that screws onto the handle.

You can get a generic hose for about £10, try Homebase or the Plumb Centre

possibly you could repair with lsx from fernox and bandage but this could look ugly, try putting hand in pocket and getting ripped for £25 as this is expensive try B&Q, doesn't have to be mira hose
