your guess is correct,most likely.depends on the model as for difficulty of its location.three wires and a centre bolt to undo for removal.can be pigs to pull out,due to the rubber seal swelling over the clamping.a brand new one is cheap,ive used appliancehelp on ebay which is trade-ish prices to the public,dont bother with your local washer shop.none are cheap.you could also research qualtex,which is also a uk based jobbie...expect to pay around 7 quid or so
