Network connections?

I have a desktop pc, laptop in a docking station, network printer and a network hard drive all connected on a wired LAN and they all can see the other computers, I have tried to connect my latest laptop with the wireless connection as there are no more ports on the router, but it can't see the other computers and is not seen by the others? but it can communicate with the printer?? All are using XP Pro
Is it possible to use a combination of wired LAN and wireless

I would like to keep the latest laptop wireless rather than being tied to a wire, the firewalls are all via Xp as far as I know? the windows network set-up wizzard set all the settings

To answer your question: yes. The how is a bit more difficult because the problem could be caused by almost anything including, your Firewall(s).

Having said that it is extremely easy to add more Ethernet Ports to a router, just connect an Ethernet Switch to it. They cost about a tenner.
