removing the syphon?

I need to remove the syphon from my toilet to get to the screw underneath because its leaking,a book I read says there is a large nut underneath, but there is not, does the syphon just lift out, It is a derwent macdee syphon unit, thanks

is the cistern sitting on the pan if so you need to isolate the water supply drain the cistern by flushing loosen 2 small wingnuts holding the cistern to the pan disconnect the water and cistern will lift off. unscrew big nut underneath cistern and siphon will then pull out
