My Hotpoint washing machine justs washes and washes, it does not go into the rinse and spin cycle unless you do it manually, any help would be grateful.

mine is same - wash light flashes - this seems to mean that there is not enough water? If i manually fill the machine via the powder tray with about 5l water it stops flashing and carries on with cycle to the 'spin & rinse' when i have to put about 8l in to make it finish. Sorry i dont have a solution, but this might help you get washing done temporarily....
