DIPLOMAT ADP8342?

Had a few problems with my Diplomat dishwasher where the overflow switch in the base of the machine kept tripping. I soon realised this was down to those useless 3 in 1 detergent blocks. Machine worked fine for a couple of washes but now power is showing but you cannot select a programme. Machine is non functional. I've checked the heater overheat stat, water level switch, door switch, overflow switch, inlet solenoid etc but it all comes back to the programmer. Unfortunately I have no wiring diagram and have proceeded to chase the wiring methodically through the machine to no avail. (qualified electrician) Any suggestions gratefully received but I have already decided to buy a new machine if the answer is paying £120-£140 for a new programmer as the machine is just out of warranty and not worth the investment based on its track record! I tried re-setting it by turning power on and pushing the programme button 4 times....is this correct?

we had a simialr fault and its was caused by the overflow tray under main unit being full and there's a cut off switch to prevent flooding there. the bubbles caused by the large tablets caused ours. if I remember right there a reset switch down there when you've emptied the tray or he dried out something. we just use powder now..

Sounds like I have the same problem, although I am not getting any fading lights. I have actually replaced the Power Control PCB and switches and when I switch it on, I cannot select a program.

How do I get to the sud sensors to clean these?

Many thanks
Sean.

aussie dude was right!! praise the lord no more manual dish washing.one more thing.you have to reset the machine here is someonelse's brilliant work.
"What seemed to work for me was to turn the power off, you will notice that the lights take a second or two to fade. During this short time press the program button 3-4 times, the program lights should move from left to right, if you turn the power back on before all the lights have faded you should be left with a program selected and if you close the door the program will start.
This overrides the sensers in the dishwasher that are cutting it out because it thinks there are too many suds."
Hope this helps

Diplomat ADP8342 reset answer.
Gazza you are right about the tablets causing the problem.
An engineer came out to look at my dishwasher, after I'd managed to reset it for myself. But he did come in useful because he said the problem is caused by tablets that are really designed for full-size machines (the ADP8342 being a slim line model). They create an equal amount of suds but in a smaller machine. He recommended using liquids or powders that you can measure in more precisely, indeed he indicated that he had repeated that same advice on many occasions. He also said that the problem doesn't occur as often, perhaps counter intuitively, if the dishes are dirtier, this is due to the suds being suppressed by all the food and grease.

As for resetting the dishwasher use a combination of the On/Off button and the program button.
