How to increase the volume of water used in the flush?

Polypipe Hideaway cistern: the flush mechanism works fine but only drains about half the water from the cistern before stopping to fill up. This does not get the job done. How do I get it to empty the entire contents of the cistern into the toilet bowl before stopping and filling up again. Many thanks.

some cisterns have a dual flush mechanism try flushing quickly wait a bit then try a long flush if theres no discernable difference try checking that the ball valve is set to the correct height.(there should be a water fill line inside the cistern use this as a guide)

It's a fair bet that the plugs that push in the side of the syphon to convert to either 6/7 or 9 ltr flush have fallen out, so the water will on flush away until air gets in to stop the syphoning effect. If you call steve at toiletspares.co.uk he'll talk you through it, he's an absolute wiz on toilets !!!!
