Worcester Bosch Greenstar 15Ri fault?

My boiler clicks like mad then goes into fault mode, light off long - light on short!
My engineer is at a loss he has tried/changed everything but he has noticed when it goes into fault mode a spurious 40v appears on the switched live at the boiler?

my green burner light is not coming on everything else is lit but of course without the burner no start up

40v voltage could mean that it may not be the boiler, but a motorised valve, or a jammed/defective gas valve. Your Engineer should have placed a call to Worcester technical dept, they will run through the full test procedure with him over the phone.
