i am guessing that this has been caused because the glass was not put in correctly when fitted. Toeing and heeling is a method of packing the glass against the frame only at the bottom corner nearest to the hinge and in the top corner furthest from the hinge, when you do this the weight of the glass is all transferred back to the hinge side not to the weak, unsupported side, so the weight of the glass isnt making the window opener drop out of place.
So to rectify this you need to take out the plastic beads which hold the glass in place, toe and heal the glass into the frame and try to close the window. You may find that the hinges are bent too much and may need replacing too or you may be lucky. Good luck.
