Zanussi Nexus FL-881 Washing Machine?

My Zanussi Nexus FL-881 will not take the powder from the tray. The water goes directly to the drum. Is there a blockage or a solenoid problem?

The cycle wont start...is sounds like its goin start on any wash and the door locks but but just wont start the wash

Take the lid off and check the linkage on the top of the draw moves freely.
