Black and Decker GL 540?

How can I dismantle the strimmer head to free cord line tangled underneath it?
Jim Barbour, May 2010
Is there a spring (fitted to the orange coloured head) that locates inside the strimmer spool when assembled?

how do you thread the strimming wire back in when it needs replacing

paul, June 2012
if you unscrew all the screws in the handle you still have to take off the gaurd - unscrew the screw on the base, then find the two holes either side, in the green handle - push something long into these, and the black gaurd should come out. This lets you get to one more screw in the handle. You need to unscrew the top half of handle first too, eventually this gets you to the motor - can't go much further than this, and you'll still need long nose pliers of somethign to get right in there between motor and wire holder.
