warranty look up?

How can I find out if a warranty is in effect.
Anthony, May 2010
Warranty is owned by the vendor - the person you gave your money to. It may not be the seller who provides the repair but it's the seller who owns the problem.

To exercise warranty you usually need proof of purchase to show when and where the item was bought - without proof of purchase a warranty claim can be very difficult.

Some manufacturing companies accept warranty claims direct - but very few - they can usually determine the age of an item from its serial number.

A European directive of 2002 requires a 2 year warranty to be offered by vendors... but see this link...

Good luck...
