Citroen Relay battery charge?

The battery warning light on my 54 2.2 Relay has been flashing for a couple of days now it wont start at all!!, could the alternator br Knackered and not charging battery. Trust it to be a bank holiday!!!!!

Get battery charged up,start motor and put a voltmeter across battery,should read 14v+,if any less get a new alternator
