How can i get my Rover 45 Blaup radio to accept code?

How can i get my Rover 45 Blaupunkt (XQE 100 380) radio /cd to accept the code i have for it?
The code is on the papers from the original owner and service invioces etc. The correct procedure has been completed on a number of occasions with the unit locking.
