How to keep a Hamilton wall clock running?

We recently inherited a beautiful Hamilton wall clock that was stored in its original shipping box for 25 years and never used. We followed the installation instructions, but the pendulum will only swing for five minutes max and stop. The clock won't chime either although you can hear the mechanism "click" at the hour, quarter and half. Any suggestions?

The oil in your clock is all dried up and will take a full cleaning by a repair shop to get it back running again.

Oil the mechanism with lubrication oil. After that try it again.

If the clock is important to you take it to a specialist - yellow pages for your area will point the way.
