I have a Hotpoint WMA62 washing machine that has just developed a problem. As the end of the wash/spin cycle the red 'door locked' light stays on and the door remains locked. The light is on constantly and not flashing. I have tried turning mains power and the on/off button on the machine. Can you help?

You need to replace the door lock.Remove top off machine and look down the right side you will see the lock try to release the catch by hand BY THE WAY UNPLG MACHINE FIRST.If you cannot release it you will have to break it to release the door good luck
