How can I get my A: drive working?

I am having a problem with my a: drive (actually several) every time I put in a disk it says the disk is not formatted, even manufactures software disks, I have tried 3 different floppy drives and get the same problem, I cant install the software for my digital camera or back up any of my files, please hep me with this problem. I have checked the ribbons and the ribbon slots no pins are bent or missing there are no apparent breaks in the ribbon, the drive acts fine and lights turn on when they are supposed to, have checked the disks in other computer and they work fine. This is driving me nuts.I have tried 3 different models of floppy drives, tried reinstalling (updating) drivers but computer say's no drivers are needed.

Andrew,

This is likely to be a problem with your Floppy Drive and I wouldn't waste too much time on it. They have come down an awful lot in price and so I would just replace it. You have the option to buy an external Floppy Drive which connects via USB if you don't fancy opening up your PC.

There are loads of places you could get one from. I use www.dabs.com
