I cannot remove a dvd from my phillips dvdr 610. It keeps sayng 'blocked'. No matter what I do, I cannot re-set it. If I press open, it goes open, closed blocked. Can anyone help me please?

dont know how to unblock it, i have the same problem, but to get the DVD out, look underneath the player just below the DVD draw, and you will see a white paper membrane, pierce this, and it will reveal a plastic spiggot, move this all the way to the left with a small screwdriver, and hey presto your DVD drawer will open..............doesn't fix the blocked bit though, still working on that !!!

your laser assy is faulty or the pcb under the drive is faulty (dvd drive)it is cheaper to buy a new 1
