hi,this looks like the problem of a faulty/dirty laser.
When a disc is put into a cd player the laser mech will move to the start of the disc,the cd will start to spin and at the same time the laser will find focus on the cd.If all is ok this will read T.O.C(table of contents)thus on your digital display you will see the number of tracks and all the other info recorded on the cd.If the laser does not find focus it cannot relay any info thus you will see"NO DISC".If you listen,after,inserting the disc you will hear three "clicks" this is the laser trying to focus
onto the disc.CLEAN or replace laser unit..hope this helps.
