The dishwasher finished a dishwashing cycle and displayed "of" when it was finished with what sounded like it was emptying. The control buttons could not be used and the motor sounded like it was still running. The only way we could turn it off was to switch it off at the power point. It wouldn't even turn off when we opened the door.

The of code is overflow. Remove the front kick pannel and the galvanised panel behind it. Sponge the water out of the overflow tray under the motor.UNPLUG IT FIRST.
When the float switch goes back down you are back in business. You may need to replace the lower front door seal to stop this happening again.
