how can i fix my grohedal cistern?

after flushing the toilet the cistern takes a long time to refil and only fills half giving a small flush.
how can i increase the water level and make the cistern fill up faster?
is there a diagram available of the inside of the cistern/troubleshooting?

you should be able to set the height of the float, if it is polystyrene you can twist it up and down the cebtral shaft, If you need help or spares, try National shower spares, on 0845 126 4142, they will help. or visit www.showerspares.com
