There are little screws with bolt heads that need to be removed to open this up - one in each of the 4 corners (in the corner next to the take-up reel, it's a little to the right of the reel-arm) on the side of the projector where the lamp, reels, etc. are. There are also two, slightly bigger, but similar screws on the bottom of the projector, near the edge of the 'closed' side, that need to be removed.
