how can I fix my Hoover 3000 softwave dishwasher?

I have a hoover softwave 3000 dishwasher, when the dial is turned to start the motor runs, some water is in the dishwasher but it does not wash or rinse, what could be the problem without having to buy a new one?

If your washing cycle jams and the whole cycle takes over two hours..or more!!

Take a close look at the heating element that runs around the base of the inside. It may be blown and...if so..replacing this
will restore your dishwasher
