Should I fix or replace my freezer?

I have a Liebherr Premium freezer which is approx 7 years old that has just stopped working. There is still full electrical power as the lights are still on, but the freezer has now defrosted. No noise is being created which would normally happen when the freezer becomes warmer than it's settings. It maybe a coincidence but the toaster also stopped heating up on the same day although they are not on the same socket. Do you think that it could be a circuit problem and do you think it is worth paying £100 + vat for an engineer to come out and look at it or would we be better getting a new one?

you need to plug it in to a good supply to prove to yourself that it isn't an electric supply issue on that circuit.if you can get the the socket that the freezer is plugged into then plug something else in and see if it works.at least this will test the outlet. At the price quoted there and the age I would put your hard earned cash towards a new one if it isn't just a supply issue
