How to fix Belle Minimix 150 which just hums?

Little used Minimix 150 240v bought new 2002ish did 2 mixes yesterday but refused to start for third mix. When I press the green button I just get a humming noise. The drum will not rotate by hand. If I manually rotate the pulley the drum does turn. Mixer had not been used for 3 years: I forgot at least 2 rules: I put the mix in b4 starting motor & emptied with it stopped. Does this sound terminal or is it obvious to those with normal brain cell levels what needs fixing? many thanks. Model No 234709M16A made 2001

thanks Derek, all the same issues with mine. I must remember to unwind the extension lead as I had broken the capacitor.

I've got one with the same problem. I changed the capacitor, still didn't run. I got a new motor from Belle but the wires are different colours. Anyone know how they connect please? Old wires are Blue & Black to one spade terminal (f). White to two spade terminals (f). Blue to one spade terminal (f).
New wiring is Blue to spade terminal (f), White to spade terminal (f), grey to spade terminal (f), blue to mini spade terminal (f). Which wire goes where?

Chap at gardenhirespares.com suggested that if you can manually start the drum rotating whilst the mixer is humming, then it will be the capacitor which needs replacing. I put on thick rubber gloves after first removing the cover off the pulley. I switched the mixer on, pressed gently on the pulley and the mixer came to life! Hope this helps.
