if you have the computers recovery cd rom run this to re-format, you will lose all saved docs, pitures etc but you get your p.c. back at no cost. this disk will reset your p.c's to its factory settings, so you will have to redo your internet connection & security.
If you do not have cd rom then if you have "windows" cd.rom try that.

while windows is running unplug power and remove battery reconnect and start up in "safe" mode. then enter control panel and select user accounts .set up a new account and use this as administrator

If you take the PC to a computer shop with proof of ownership and ID they many be able to help you. Unless the password in the the security chip, in which case the PC is scrap.

I have no intention of posting how to negate passwords on an open forum (and I hope that no one else will either)as I believe that to do so is a recipe for even more stolen laptops. (Often involving violence.)
