Bosch Classixx frost free fridge/freezer keeps defrosting?

I have a 3 year old Bosch Classixx KGU34641 frost free fridge/freezer. Freezer temperature lights over door not working and the auto defrost system doesn't seem to be working properly. Fridge and freezer are not coming back on after defrost cycle. If I turn it off for a few hours and leave the doors open, it seems to reset itself when I turn it back on. Fridge temperature panel lights are working ok! Any ideas?

I have fixed mine that had exactly the same problem> I was about to throw it away, and thought, one last go.

In the freezer section remove all the baskets.
Look at the back wall of the freezer. There are 4 small covers hiding screw holes - remove these.

Now, your freezer may be different, but once you take these covers off, you can see clips, that hold the back panel to the freezer - sadly you need to break these so u can remove the back panel - dont worry - if this fix works u can just place the panel back - it wont fall off, or throw you freezer away..

Anyway, remove the back panel. when u have done this you will see the drip channel, that takes defrosted water somewhere.. along that you will see a metal wire about 2mm thick, that circumnavigates the channel... this MAY BE touching the water/channel, and it is this you need to lift up.. i used rawl plugs cut in half, with a slit cut in, to properly support the wire at 4 points..

This wire is obviously some thermostat/sensor that keeps tripping due to the water touching it.. previously mine had been wrapped at 4 points with some plastic tape which had disintergrated

anyway, give the whole area a good clean and dry

replace the back wall by just pushing it into place

.. my bosch fridge freezer now works, and does not defrost itself..

i think once you see the back of the fridge exposed, you'll be able to work out what's tripping the fridge into defrosting..
