mcculloch 338 chain saw wont start?

chain saw worked for over a week melted clutch cover replace whit new part cant get tool to start

If it melted the chaibrake cover you probably ran it with the brake on, it may well now need a clutch spring as the heat will have stretched the spring, it is probably trying now to turn the chain on start up
