E23 is "Sledge Error???" From the Ford manual to fix:- CD is dirty/upside down? clean or fit correctly, if still the same remove all power from the radio (Both fuses will need security code) for 30+ seconds if still the same, replace the radio!! I would also try a CD lens cleaner most audio shops will sell them (Halfords, Argos, Maplins etc)
