I need to remove my toilet to be able to repair the floor. Can i just remove the toilet and if so will the cistern stay in place or do i have to remove that as well?

Cistern first - very easy - then pan. The WC pan supports the cistern and two tiny screws at the back - into the wall - stop it falling forward - it is not hung on the screws - it perches on the back of the WC pan. There are two wing nuts right at the back - pointing downwards - that hold them together.
