How to finalize dvd+r disc?

I have transferred my home video to DVD+R disc. It will play on my dvd player but not on my PC, can anyone give simple step by step instructions please on how to finalize. I have a Sanyo DVD Recorder DRW-500. Thank you in advance.

try installing the free program VLC - do a search on google.com. If that fails try powerdvd.
