drain pump of Miele Novotronic W830 won't switch off?

The solder on the circuit for the ON/OFF button of my Miele Novotronic W830 fell off during mid cycle causing the drum to cut off one of the two cables going from the drain pump to the EL101 power board. I have fixed both so that the machine switches on and the pump works, but the pump does not switch off. I have noticed that one of the circuits (flat metal strip) that links to one drain-pump wire has come off the power board, although it is not broken and the two ends still make contact with the board. Is this conclusive evidence that the component(s) on this circuit are damaged (e.g. a new board costs $A447 so it is worth fixing) or could the pump also be damaged ($A257 worth)? Grateful for any help.
