could be the heater element has become O/C, (open circuit) some machines the programme hangs at this point waiting for the HEATER to heat the water up (course is never does hence the wait) you will need to strip either the front or back of machine to expose the heater wire connections, remove wires from the heater ,then test across the large heater spade connections, should read about 30 ohms
