My AEG OKO Lavamat 508 does not reset authomatically?

I purchased an AEG OKO Lavamat 508 but it does not reset automatically after washing, allowing the door to open. I have to reset it it manually before the door will open. Is this a manufacturers fault or am I doing something wrong?
