K-Mechanism stuck during loading/unloading.
This is almost always due to a split in the loading motor drive coupling, causing slippage.
It's a very tiny cheap part, worth about 20p. Although, a service engineer will probably give you a £40+ bill to fit it.
On the underside of the mechanism there is a small motor (loading motor), with a plastic worm gear driving a gear & main cam.
The faulty part is located inside the worm gear.
You need to remove the single retaining screw on the motor bracket, release the retaining clip (via top side) and unclip the motor. Slip off worm gear, replace the coupling.
If you are able to obtain the part, then It's a very simple repair to replace the coupling, as long as you know how to realign or keep the mechanism in alignment.
If you don't know, then you'll end up with a bigger problem. That will then cost more to fix than the initial £40 the repair guy would have charged you in the first place.
Although, it's probably a minor repair you'll probably be better off buying a new video, or better still get a DVD recorder instead (far more fun), as videos are on the slippery slope down too oblivion.
