Laptop goes dead after 2 - 3mins with battery at 90%?

Medion Akoya Mini E1210 10" Netbook dies after 2 or 3mins when I disconnect power supply, even though battery is indicating 90% charged. On restart it dies when it reaches the Windows start page.
